Philadelphia, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/09/2019 -- Nature's Way Medicine is encouraging Pennsylvanians to submit petitions for the addition of qualifying medical marijuana conditions to the state's Medical Marijuana Advisory Board. The board is accepting research-based petitions for the addition of conditions that Pennsylvanians believe should qualify for medical cannabis use in the coming year. The board will discuss and vote on these petitions on February 1, 2019.
While Pennsylvania already has 21 qualifying diseases and disorders that qualify for the prescription of medical marijuana use, many doctors and civilians believe that medicinal cannabis has far more potential applications for use that could vastly improve the quality of life of many individuals, should these illnesses be added to the list. These illnesses include but are not limited to anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, insomnia, Lyme disease, and migraines.
It is difficult to know the long-term efficacy of the application of medical cannabis to diseases such as these due to the limited ability to study the drug's effects in humans. Many people do, however, report that the use of marijuana to treat mental illnesses like anxiety and depression, can be helpful, at least in the short term.
Nature's Way Medicine is excited for the opportunity for Pennsylvanians to have their voices be heard when it comes to the illnesses the should be treated under medical cannabis. People may begin to participate and send in petitions to the Medical Marijuana Advisory Board in the coming weeks.
For individuals who qualify for medical cannabis already or are interested in a consultation to see if it is a good fit to treat a given illness, contact Nature's Way Medicine at (855) 420-3627.
